Samuel Drake

M, d. before 2 June 1686
     Samuel was born. He was the son of Captain John Drake.1 Samuel married Ann Barlow, daughter of John Barlow I and Ann Ward, on 13 September 1650 in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut.2 Samuel was a Colonel & Rector. In October 1662, He was made deputy of Fairfield. The family removed in 1665 to Eastchester, Westchester County, New York.3,4 The inventory of Samuel's estate was taken. He had 5 acres of home lot, 6 a meadow, 8 uoland valued at 56 pounds. Samuel made his will on 10 May 1686 at Eastchester, Westchester County, New York.

He was aged & weak. He left to his wife Ann, household goods. He left to his son Samuel of Fairfield, my best horse. He left to his daughter, Mary 25 pounds. He also left legacies to his son John, sons-in-law: Joseph Jones, Leffeland Slater, Richard Headley, grandchildren: Samuel Headley & Robert under 21 years. Joseph, Samuel, Mary & Hannah Jones, Martha & Elizabeth Slater. My lot of upland and meadow at Cornelius, one half my home lot in Eastchester to be security for the performance of the will.
He appointed his sons Joseph, Samuel & John overseers.





He was aged & weak. He mentioned his wife Ann, son Samuel of Fairfield, daughter, Mary 25 pounds, son Joseph, sons-in-law: Joseph Jones, Leffeland Slater, Richard Headley, grandchildren: Samuel Headley & Robert under 21 years. Joseph, Samuel, Mary & Hannah Jones, Martha & Elizabeth Slater. He appointed son Joseph and Samuel & John overseers.5,6 Samuel departed this life before 2 June 1686 in Eastchester, Westchester County, New York. His will was probated on 2 June 1686.
