David Divins

     David was born in January 1838 in Walker Township, Center County, Pennsylvania. David married Nancy Eleanor Baird, daughter of Theophilus Baird and Elizabeth Cornelius, on 29 December 1859 in Churchville, Clairion County, Pennsylvania. David & Nancy had three children: Laura, William H, [1863] & Sadie. David enlisted in military service on 31 March 1864 at Meadville, Pennsylvania. David died on Monday, 8 August 1864 in David's Island in the City, County & State of New York, of typhoid fever while serving in the Civil War. He is buried in the Cypress Hill Military Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York [section 1, grave 1599].
