Marie-Charlotte Disy dit Monplaisir

     Marie-Charlotte was born in Ile-DuPas, Quebec, Canada. She was the daughter of Micheal Ignace Desy dit Monplaisir and Marguerite Lepelle dit Desmarais. She was christened there on 22 May 1730 in the church of La Visitation.¹ A contract for the marriage of Marie-Charlotte & Nicolas Sylvestre was signed on 3 February 1749. It is noted in the contract that his parents are Nicolas Sylvestre & Marie Elisabeth Laporte and her mother is Marguerite Lepelle and her step father is Joseph FaFart; the document was written by notary DuFresne..² Nicolas & Marie-Charlotte had children: Joseph-Amable [5/02/1751-2/15/1826][m. 4/08/1771 Marie Marguerite Therese Valois], Alexis Amable [3/25/1751-3/28/1753], Alexis [8/10/1754-10/20/1756], Louis-Paul [8/28/1755-1/31/1835][m. 2/24/1783 Marie Ursule Perrault dit Chateaugay], Marie Marguerite [10/04/1757-10/08/1757], Marie Charlotte [11/09/1758], Amable [1759-7/10/1761], Marie Elisabeth [10/01/1760-10/08/1808][m. 11/30/1782 Joseph Daigle Janot], Marguerite [4/01/1762], Jean Baptiste [3/11/1764], Louis-Antoine [6/27/1765-5/01/1809][m. 1/16/1786 Marie Josephte Carpentier] & Marie Charles [1/14/1768].³ Marie-Charlotte departed this life on Wednesday, 17 January 1770 in Berthierville, Berthier County, Quebec, Canada. She was buried there in the churchyard of Ste-Genevieve on Thursday, 18 January 1770.⁴
