Sarah departed this life on Wednesday, 11 May 1853 in Sparta Township, Sussex County, New Jersey, at age 26 years, 3 months and 26 days. She was buried there in Sparta Cemetery. The inscription on her tombstone reads: Sarah Wade, wife of Charles Wade Jr. born Jan. 15, 1827 died May 11, 1853 - Aged 26 years 3 months and 26 days.1
