Margery Deane

F, d. after 8 May 1635
     Margery was born in Chard, Somersetshire, England. She was the daughter of William Deane of Chard & grand daughter of Walter, great grand daughter of John. She is also the sister of the immigrants John & Walter Deane.1 Margery married Elder John Strong II, son of John Strong and Eleanor Deane, circa 1631 in Chard. On 22 July 1634, Margery's father, William Dean of Chard left her £10 and her son, John £5. On 22 July 1634, Margery's father, William Dean of Chard left her £10 and her son, John £5.2 On 1 April 1635, Margery & her husband, John, left Weymouth aboard the ship, "Hopewell", under the command of William Bundocke, bounded for Massachusetts Bay. Among the passengers listed aboard the ship was the John Stronge family. They arrived on the eighth of May..3 The family first settled at Hingham. Margery departed this life after 8 May 1635probably at Hingham, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. She died almost immediately after arriving in New England on this date.4
