Pierre De Guire

     Pierre was born on Friday, 13 September 1675 in Sorel, St-Pierre-De Saurel, Quebec, Canada. He was christened there on 15 October 1675 in St-Pierre Church.¹ A contract for the marriage of Pierre and Jeanne Blet dit Gazaille was signed on 29 November 1696. The contract notes that Pierre was the son of Francois Deguire and Marie Rose Colin, living at St-Ours. Jeanne's parents are listed as Jean Blette and Jeanne Bouveau. The notary was Mr. Basset.² Pierre and Jeanne had children: Pierre [1697-11/15/1708], Isabelle Elisabeth [1699-10/03/1778][m. 2/08/1717 Louis Giguere dit Despins], Mathurin [1701], Joseph [11/01/1704-2/12/1789][m. 3/16/1731 Marie Angelique Pepin], Antoine [1/26/1707-11/25/1708], Marie Rose [6/301709-12/29/1750][m. 1/12/1728 Paul Hus], daughter 7/22/1711-7/22/1711], son [7/07/1712-7/07/1712], Louis [3/05/1715-3/07/1715], Antoine [1717-1/11/1739] & Pierre [6/26/1719-7/16/1737].³ Pierre departed this life between 12 January 1739 and 6 February 1750. He was listed on the death record of his son, Antoine, on 12 January 1739 and his wife was a widow at her death on 6 February 1750.
