     Robert was born in Wiltshire, England, at the Manor of Bourten. Robert was noted as being of Bourten, the ancient seat of the family. He held the Manors of Bourten, Swalecliffe, Ipswell, Tetsworth & he also held land in Cheselhampton & Fanflore. In 1278, King Edward commissioned a report, "Rotuli Hundredorum", among commissioners in Bambury Hundred was Robert Danvers of Bourten. His brother Richard had a like position in the Thame Hundred. In the list of tenants of the Bishop of Lincoln, of the year 1300, Robert Danvers was heir to his uncle Peter Thalmasche. He was the heir of his father's estate.2 Robert departed this life before 1316 in Oxfordshire, England, at the Manor of Little Bourten.
