Anne Couvent

F, b. circa 1601, d. 25 December 1675
     Anne was born circa 1601 in Picardie, France. She was the daughter of Guilluame Couvent and Antoinette Longueval. Anne married Philippe Amiot circa 1624 in France. According to the records of the notary Courand, Philippe purchased the home of his mother-in-law, Antoinette Longueval, consisting of 14 rooms and 32 arpents [acres] of land. In the spring of 1635, Philippe, Anne and the children left their home in France for Quebec. They boarded the ship in Dieppe, and arrived in Quebec that summer. Anne's husband, Philippe, died before 7 September 1639 in ville de Quebec, leaving her a widow. Anne married 2nd Jacques Maheu on 26 September 1639 in ville de Quebec at the Basilica of Notre Dame.1 1666, Anne was listed on the Canadian Census in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Anne Convent [65 years], widow of Jacques Matheut, & a Domestic under contract, Robert Marinet [22 years].2 Anne married 3rd Etienne Blanchon dit Larose on 10 September 1666 in ville de Quebec at the Basilica of Notre Dame.3 1667, Anne and her husband, Etienne, were listed on the Canadian Census at ville de Quebec. Enumerated in this household were Etienne Blanchon [28 years], Anne Convent [60 years], and two Domestics; Louis Presseau [28 years] & Pierre Dupinneau [16 years].4 Anne made her will on 23 February 1674 at ville de Quebec. The will was drawn up by notary Duquet. Anne departed this life on Wednesday, 25 December 1675 in ville de Quebec. She was buried there in the cemetery of Notre Dame on Thursday, 26 December 1675.5 The inventory of Anne's estate was taken on Friday, 10 January 1676 by the notary Duquet.

Important Notes: Anne is a descendent of many noble families and of Royalty. These royal lines include those of Louis VIII of France, Henry III of England, Amarlric of Jeruselum, Thibault of Navarre, Baldwin I of Constanople and of the Holy Roman Empire.6
