Alice was born circa 1564 in Tiverton, Devonshire, England. Alice married Robert Read on 5 November 1591 in Tiverton at St. Peter's Church.1 The couple had no children. Alice's husband, Robert, died before 9 September 1623 in Tiverton, leaving her a widow.
