Jacques Charet

M, b. circa 26 January 1664, d. circa 5 January 1725
     Jacques was born in Poitiers, Vienne, Poitou-Charentes, France. He was the son of Francois Charet & Anne Rideau. The surname is sometimes spelled Charest.1 He was christened there on 26 January 1664 in Ste-Radegonde.2 Jacques married Jeanne Dubois, daughter of Jacques Dubois and Catherine Vieillot, on 15 September 1693 in Pointe-de-Levy, Lauzon, Levis County, Quebec, Canada, at St-Joseph Church.3 Jacques & Jeanne had children: Joseph [12/06/1696-4/25/1727], Marie-Radegonde [4/13/1699] [m. 4/29/1726 Pierre Gaspard Magnon dit Champagne], Marie-Josephe [5/09/1701-5/16/1743][m. 6/04/1727 Louis Roy dit St Louis], Marie Jeanne [7/05/1703-11/21/1780] [m. 8/23/1734 Barthelemy Bernier] & Etienne [6/__/1705-1/09/1715].4 Jacques's wife, Jeanne, died on 24 December 1705 in Beaumont, Bellechasse County, Quebec, Canada, leaving him a widower. Jacques departed this life in Beaumont. He was buried there in the churchyard of St-Etienne on Friday, 5 January 1725.5
