Anne Canfield

F, b. 1787, d. 14 February 1855
     Anne was born in 1787 in New York. She was the daughter of Amos & Polly [Robertson] Canfield. Anne married Amzi Stedman, son of John Stedman I and Mary Frances Hotchkiss, circa 1804 in Tioga County, New York. Amzi & Anne had children: John H. [5/06/1805-11/06/1825], Henry H. [1808-6/05/1813], Josiah [3/07/1809-4/29/1894] [m. Elvira Strong] Ezra [1810-1851] [m. Adaline Deland], Mary M., William R. [1812-8/15/1813], Rachel, Amos [1816] [m. Lucinia], Male, Ester [1821-3/29/1822], Lyman T. [1823-1902], Nancy [11/__1824-5/08/1827], Amzi [1827- 6/12/1829], Amzi [1829-1882]. 29 August 1850, Anne and her husband, Amzi, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Owego, Tioga County, New York. Enumerated in this household were Amzi [67 Connecticut], Anna [63 New York], Lymon [27 New York], Polly [24 New York], Wheeler [2 New York], Amzi [20 New York]. The men are all farmers. The farm was valued at $4000 and personal estate was valued at $2000.1 Anne's husband, Amzi, died on 21 February 1854 in Flemingville, Tioga County, New York, leaving her a widow. Anne departed this life on Wednesday, 14 February 1855 in Flemingville, Tioga County, New York, at age 68 years. She was buried at Weltonville in Weltonville Cemetery.2
