     Ann was born the 24th day of the 7th month 1716 at Reedy Vleigh, Musketa Cove, Queens County, Long Island, New York. An unknown person married the 8th day of the 4th month 1737 in the Friends' Meeting House, Matinecock, Queens County, Long Island, New York. About 1769, the family moved to Mamaroneck, Westchester County. Ann departed this life in 1803 in Mamaroneck, Westchester County, New York.

    , page 66 - no. 52 ANN "24, 7, 1716; pages 93-94 - no. 51 Ann Carpenter, daughter of Joseph,19 was born at "Reedy Vly," Musketa Cove, on 24d. Imo. 1716, and on 8d. 4mo, 1737, she married Samuel, born 1708, son of Samuel and Hannah (Willetts) Underhill. This ceremony took place at the Friends' Meeting House at Matinecock, and, as was the custom among the Friends, all who so chose signed as witnesses, the near relatives signing first.
    At this wedding there were a large number of signers. Among them were the parents, Joseph and Mary, two Thomas Carpenters, two Josephs, a John, Dinah, and Elizabeth; then come Abraham, Samuel, and Hannah Underhill, Jacob and Mary Walton, Thomas and Sarah Pearsall, Elizabeth Underhill, etc.
    The children of Samuel and Ann (Carpenter) Under-hill were, Joseph, born 1738, Samuel, 1740, Robert, 1742, Mary,* 1745, Andrew, 1749, James, 1751, Thomas, 1755, and Hannah, 1757.
    * Mary Underhill married 5, 9, 1765, James Mott. She died 1776 at Mamaroneck. Her father and mother also died there, they having moved there about 1769; the father died 178o, and her mother, Ann (Carpenter) Underhill, died 1803. (Vide Genealogy of Adam and Anne Mott.).
