Alexander was born in 1560 in Herefordshire, England, at the parish of Dilwyne. Alexander, with his wife and five daughters immigrated to Leyden, Holland with the Pilgrims, their native home being at Wrington, Somersetshire, England. Four of his daughters came to America, or at least are the maternal ancestors of prominent families in our early history. Julia Ann married George Morton before immigrating. Agnes married Samuel Fuller of London, but died before her husband immigrated. Alice married Governor Bradford, the second marriage for both. Priscilla married William Wright, by whom she had descendents. Priscilla married second, John Cooper, but at her death, she was the last survivor of that family. Morton, Fuller, Bradford, and Wright are names that through these progenators have produced men of note and ability in American history.
