     Matthew was born. Matthew married Sarah Treat, daughter of Richard Treat and Alice Gaylord, circa 1644 in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut.2 Matthew & Sarah had children: Samuel [chr. 10/19/1645], Sarah [chr. 5/23/1647], Ebenezer [1649], Matthew [5/09/1650], Hannah [chr. 6/22/1651], Rachel [1652], Jonathan & Mary. The first were born in New Haven and the last two at Norwalk. Sometime after 1666, he & his family removed to Newark, New Jersey. Matthew departed this life in 1673 in Newark Township, Essex County, New Jersey.
