Charles Brochu

Charles was born on Tuesday, 4 September 1827 in Lauzon, Levis County, Quebec, Canada. He waw the son of Charles Brochu and Elizabeth Duquet. He was christened there on 4 September 1827 in St-Henri Church.1 He married first on 25 November 1845 Marie-Flavie Tessier at L'Ange-Gardien, Québec. After the couple remove to Ontario anround 1850, the name was Angelized and often spelled Brushey. They had children: Napoleon [1853], Josephine [1855], Joseph [1857], Magloire [1860], Octave [1865] & George [May 1862]. Charles was listed on the 1871 census as deaf & dumb. Charles married 2nd Marguerite Pelland dit Beausoliel, daughter of Francis Pelland dit Beausoliel and Ester Sylvestre, on 14 February 1903 in Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. He was of Flinton.2 Two of Charles' sons, George & Magloire, married nieces of Margaret. Charles departed this life on Wednesday, 7 November 1906 in Flinton, Kaladar Township, Lennox & Addington County, Ontario, Canada, at the rectory of St. John the Evangelist Church at age 79 years, 2 months and 3 days.3
