Louis Brassart

     Louis was born in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada. He was christened there on 3 August 1653 in the Basilica of Notre Dame.¹ He signed a marriage contract with Jeanne- Angelique Simon, daughter of Hebert Simon & Marie Vie, which was annulled 25 March 1677.² A contract for the marriage of Louis Brassart & Simone Maufet was signed on 28 January 1680 at Quebec, Canada. This contract was drawn up by the notary, Mr. Duquet. It noted his parents as the late Antoine Brassard & Francoise Mery and Simone's parents as the late Pierre Maufay & Marie Duval.² He married Simon on this very day. Louis & Simone had children: Pierre [1687-5/23/1765][m. 2/09/1711 Marie-Anne Lalande & 2nd 10/22/1742 Marie-Louise Leblanc], Marie-Madeleine [circa 1689-12/04/1760][m. 10/07/1710 Etienne Beland dit Lacomb & 2nd 6/15/1748 Pierre Desfoches], Marie Louise [2/22/1694-5/22/1781][m. 3/01/1718 Andre Parent], Simone-Barbe [12/09/1696-1/25/1765][m. 1/09/1719 Etienne Parent], Philippe [1699-6/24/1715], Marie [9/21/1701-1/08/1703] & Genevieve-Charlotte [6/11/1704]. 1681, Louis and Simone were listed on the Canadian Census in L'Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Louis Brassart [27 years] & Simome Maufay [17 years].³ Louis departed this life after 1 March 1718 in ville de Quebec. When his daughter marries and is deceased by 7 February 1718, when his widow remarries.⁴
