     Joseph was born on Tuesday, 6 December 1757 in Lanoraie, Berthier County, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Catherine Bourdon and the adopted son of Claude Bourdelais and Madeleine Quenneville. He was christened there on 7 December 1757 in St-Joseph Church.1 Joseph married Josephe Coucis, daughter of Jean-Baptiste Coucis dit La Fleur and Marie-Agathe Blet dit Gazaille, on 4 October 1779 in St-Sulpice, Quebec, Canada, at St-Sulpice Church.2 Joseph & Josette had children: Joseph Marc [4/25/1781], Marie Josephe [9/17/1783][m. 2/03/1806 Pierre Brisset dit Courchene], Marie Archange [8/13/1785], Pierre [3/13/1787][m. 7/10/1809 Claire Marie Rivard], a daughter [2/25/1789-2/26/1789], Marie Anne [8/15/1790-7/24/1791], Marie Therse [5/23/1792][m. 9/23/1811 Etienne Frappier dit St Hilaire], Theophile [1003/1794-8/28/1795], Marie [9/22/1795-10/19/1795], Marie Marguerite [7/06/1797-8/13/1797] & Francois Xavier [3/13/1801] [m. 4/27/1824 Julie Duteau dit Vilanre].3
