John was born circa 1415 in Little Eaton, County Essex, England. He was made a knight in 1426. He was the 1st Baron of Berners in 1455. John married Mrgaret Berners , Baroness, daughter of Sir Richard "Baron" Berners and Philippa Dalyngruge, circa 1441 in England. John departed this life on Saturday, 16 May 1474 in England. He was buried at Chertsey, County Surrey, England, in the Abbey.
