Jeanne was born in Mortagne-au-Perche, Orne, Normandy, France. She was christened there on 1 May 1601 in St-Jean Church.¹ Jeanne married Thomas Hayot on 15 July 1629 in Mortagne-au-Perche, Orne, Normandy, France, at the parish of St-Jean.² About 1638, Thomas & Jeanne as well as their children; Jean, Genevieve & Rodolphe immigrated from France, arriving in Quebec City.³ On 14 January 1670, Romain Becquet, a notary drew up her will.⁴ Jeanne departed this life shortly before 8 September 1670 at Sillery, ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada. The date her husband signed a marriage contract with a new wife.
