James married Jane Baldwin, daughter of Henry Baldwin and Alice King, before 2 January 1600 in Herefordshire, England. She was married at the time of the writing of her father's will. James & Jane had children: Henry, James, John, Christian, Faith, Marie & Jane, Their son, Henry inherited from Jane's father 6 shillings & 8 pence.
