Gysbert Teunis was born before 5 December 1668 in Wallabout, Kings County, Long Island, New York. On 5 December 1668, he was christened at the New Amsterdam Reformed Dutch Church in the City, County & State of New York. The witnesses were Jan Louwen & Catharyn.1 Around 1689, the family resided at Fresh Kills, Staten Island, Richmond County, New York where he purchased 250 acres of land. Gysbert married Jannetje Symonson Van Arsdale on 16 April 1689 in Flatbush, Kings County, Long Island, New York, at the Reformed Dutch Church.2 Gysbert departed this life after 1732 in Bushwick, Kings County, Long Island, New York.
