Ralph Waldo Blackledge

     Ralph Waldo was born on Sunday, 15 January 1905 in Zanesville Township, Muskingum County, Ohio. He was the son of William C. Blackledge & Georgia Shotwell.1 He was often referred to as Shorty. Ralph married Thelma Romaine Beery, daughter of LeRoy Selby Beery and Bertha Smith, in Crawford County, Ohio. 25 April 1940, Ralph and his wife, Thelma, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio, at 25 East Arch Street. Enumerated in this household were Waldo R Blackledge [35 Ohio], his wife: Thelma R. [31 Ohio], brother-in-law: Raymond A Beery [29, Ohio], sister-in-law: Ruby M Beery [20 Ohio]. Waldo was working Stan Manufacturing Company in the Production Department for a yearly income of $1575; Raymond is working at the same place in the Shipping Department for a yearly income of $400. Thelma and Ralph were living at the same address in 1935.2 Ralph departed this life on Thursday, 25 July 1974 in Mansfield at Medcentral Health System at age 69 years, 6 months and 10 days.3,4 He was buried there in Mansfield Memorial Park.
