Hannah Beull

     Hannah was born in 1712 in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut. James married Hannah Beull, son of James Curtis and Hannah Coe, circa 1734 at Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut. James and Hannah had children: Nathan [6/29/1735-9/21/1776] and Aaron [9/09/1737-5/30/1801] [m. Hannah Griswold]. Hannah's husband, James, died on 13 January 1790 in Durham leaving her a widow. Hannah departed this life on Saturday, 17 September 1796 in Durham at age 84 years. She was buried there in the Old Durham Cemetery. The inscription on her tombstone reads: In Memory of Mrs Hannah Curtiss, Late Widow of Deacon James Curtiss, who died Septr 17th 1796, in the 84th Year of her Age. Lord, I commit my soul to thee, Accept the sacred trust, Receive this nobler part of me, And watch my sleeping dust.¹
