Marie-Josephe was born circa 1736 in Lanoraie, Berthier County, Quebec, Canada.¹ Marie-Josephe married Pierre Pellletier dit Antaya Chateauneuf on 4 July 1757 in Sorel, St-Pierre-De Saurel, Quebec, Canada, at St-Pierre Church.² Pierre and Marie Josephe had one daughter: Marie Josephe [6/19/1762-7/10/1800][m. 1/29/1781 Joseph Sicard dit Carufel].³ Marie-Josephe's husband, Pierre, died on 8 February 1763 in Sorel leaving her a widow. Marie-Josephe married 2nd Francois Sylvestre, son of Nicolas Sylvestre and Marie Elisabeth Isabelle Laporte dit St-Georges, on 23 January 1764 in Sorel at St-Pierre Church.⁴ Marie-Josephe departed this life on Wednesday, 3 June 1795 in St-Cuthbert, Berthier County, Quebec, Canada. She was buried there in the churchyard of St-Cuthbert on Friday, 5 June 1795.⁵
