Andrew Benton1

     Andrew was born in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut. He was the son of Andrew Benton & Hannah Stocking. He was christened there on 12 August 1653. Andrew married Martha Spencer, daughter of Sergeant Thomas Spencer and Sarah Bearding, circa 1677 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, at the First Church.1 Andrew & Martha had children: Hannah [1/06/1677][m. 2/20/1700 Edward Scofell & 2nd in 1706 Benjamin Smith], Martha 8/01/1679], Andrew [7/31/1681-7/31/1704], Mercy [9/07/1683], John [2/22/1685], Dorothy [4/22/1688][m. 5/03/1716 John Gridley], Mary [11/02/1690], Ebenezer 10/18/1696-12/__/1770][m. Elizabeth White] & Elizbeth [2/12/1698]. Andrew departed this life in Hartford.
