William was born circa 1545 in Saxlingham, Nethergate, County Norfolk, England. William married Judith Marsh, daughter of Nicholas Marsh and Margaret Walker, circa 1589. William's wife, an unknown person , died between 1598 and 1610 in County Norfolk, England, leaving him a widower.1 William made his will on 1 September 1614 at Bourne, Cambridgeshire, England. William departed this life before 4 October 1614 in Bourne, Cambridgeshire, England, at the home of his daughter, Ann. He was buried at Bourne, Cambridgeshire, England. His will was probated on 19 October 1614.

Important Notes: The son, William Benedict & his daughter, Ann Benedict, who were named in the Will of Henry Hunlocke, are believed to be this William & his daughrer, Ann. William's wife was Judith Marsh, daughter of Henry's 1st wife, Margaret Walker. Henry raised Judith like a daughter, So when, Henry referred to William Benedict as son, he meant son-in-law as was often done in wills. In this case, William was actually a step son-in-law. When Henry refered to his daughter, Ann Benedict, it was just after he spoke of William, and it meant William's daughter, not Henry's. Ann was a granddaughter by his marriage to Margaret. It seems apparent that Henry only had a son, Henry, & no daughter Ann.
