     Lawrence was born probably at County Sussex East, England. The Bathurst name came from a location in County Sussex. This was probably the home of earlier generations. He settled at Cranbrook, County Kent - within a few miles of the ancient castle of Bathurst, situated in Bathurst wood in Battle, County Sussex.
