David Barr

     David was born on Wednesday, 15 July 1778. He was the son of Joseph Barr & Catherine Shirk. David married Mary Jane Bibler, daughter of Jacob Bibler I and Katharina Hite, on 24 October 1809 in Fairfield County, Ohio. David & Mary Jane had children: Son [circa 1810], Samuel [6/19/1812-7/20/1890][m. Ann Elizabeth Friesner], Daughter [circa 1814], Son [circa 1816], Daughter [circa 1618] & Jacob [8/29/1820-7/08/1897][m. Sarah Spohn]. The 1820 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Pleasant Township, Fairfield County, Ohio, the family of David Barr [30001:2001].¹ David departed this life on Monday, 20 September 1824 in Pleasant Township at age 46 years, 2 months and 5 days. He was buried there in Applegate Cemetery. The inscription on his stone reads: In Memory of David Barr who departed this life on Sept. 20, 1824 aged 46 years 2 months 5 days.
