Mathurin Baril

     Mathurin was born in Batiscan, Les Chenaux County, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Jean Baril & Elisabeth Gaignon. He was christened there on 11 January 1688 in St-Francois-Xavier Church.¹ Mathurin married Marie-Magdeleine Gailloux, daughter of Pierre Gailloux and Marguerite Crete, on 14 April 1711 in Batiscan at St-Francois-Xavier Church.² Mathurin & Marie-Magdelene had children: Francois [2/28/1713], Joseph [10/20/1715-12/12/1732], Francois [4/15/1718-1/09/1734], Antoine [4/08/1721-4/15/1721], Antoine [6/14/1722-6/28/1722], Jean-Baptiste [8/10/1723-8/16/1742], Marie-Anne [7/11/1725-12/12/1798][m. 7/24/1747 Jean-Francois Demers] & Pierre [10/28/1727-4/30/1815][m. 2/18/1754 Marie Louise Rivard]. Mathurin departed this life between 18 February 1754 and 1 February 1761 in Ste-Anne-de-La-Perade, Champlain County, Quebec, Canada. He was living at the marriage of his son, Perre,and his wife was listed as a widow at her death.
