Joseph was born circa 1604 in County Suffolk, England. Joseph married Margaret Warryn, daughter of Thomas Warren, on 5 February 1632 in Reydon, County Suffolk, England.2 Joseph was a mariner. He was master of the ship "Love" and brought his siblings, Mary, her husband William Brown & Christopher and his wife Priscilla to New England. He resided at Salem in 1638. He took a freight of beaver to England for the Plymoutn Company in 1638 in the “Mary and Ann”. He sold his land at Salem in 1649.3,4 Joseph and Margaret had children: Joseph [1633], Gideon [1635] & John [3/10/1635-4/12/1698] [m. Mercy Horton, daughter of Barnabus Horton and Mary Langdon]. Joseph departed this life on Monday, 7 January 1658 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
