     Francis was born in New York. He was first at Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut. He removed from there in 1641 probably to Hempstead, Long Island. He later removed to the town of Westchester, Westchester County, New York.n, Diinah, Jonathan & Dorothy. Francis married Dorothy Marsh on 22 July 1669 in the City, County & State of New York.3 Francis's wife, Dorothy, died before 29 November 1682 in Westchester, Westchester County, New York, leaving him a widower. Francis made his will on 29 November 1682 at Westchester, Westchester County, New York.

"I surrender my spirit to God who gave it." "I will and bequeath to Mr. Wm. Richardson my five children, viz. Mary, John, Dinah, Jonathan and Dorothy, for him to keep so many of them as he sees fit. The rest to be put out to whom he thinks fit, but not to any of my own kindred, or kindred of my wife." After payment of debts, the rest to go to his children. Witnesses, Edward Walters, John Jennings.4,5

Francis departed this life before 18 December 1682 in Westchester, Westchester County, New York. His inventory included his house & home lot with orchard valued at £40.
Total amount, £83. His will was probated on 3 February 1682/83. Mr. Pellatreau, in his book on the abstracts of New York wills, gave the probated date as 18 December 1682. It is possible that this is the date for the invntory.
