     Edmund was born in 1670 in the Town of Hempstead, Queens County, Long Island, New York. Edmund married Sarah Townsend, daughter of "Mill" John Townsend and Ester Smith, circa 1705 in the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York. The family resided at Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York. He made his will 2 December 1731 at the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York.

"In the name of God, Amen, the second day of December in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and thirty one, I, Edmund Wright, of Oysterbay, in Queens County. Island of Nassau, and Province of New York, yeoman, being in indifferent health as to my body, and in perfect Judgment and memory as to my mind, thanks be to God therefore, yet calling unto mind the Mortality of my body, and Knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Die. do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say, principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave in and for my body I recommend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner, at the discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God, and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form, viz:
Imprimis. It is my Will, and I do order that in the first place, all my just debts and funeral charges be paid some convienient time after my Decease by my Executors, whom I appoint, constitute and Ordain to be James Dickenson, Senr; Samuel Underhill, Senior; Jotham and Micajah Townsend, all of Oysterbay aforesaid, and Thomas Pearsall, Senior, of Hempstead Harbour, County and Province aforesaid, and my beloved wife Sarah, whom I hereby empower and authorize to make sale of my whole Estate Heiritable and movable (excepting only my Estate in the Town of Oysterbay. or Town Spot commonly called, and meadows at Beaver Swamp) which place in the Town Spot, and meadows at Beaver Swamp, I order to be possessed by my beloved wife aforesaid during her Widowhood. together also with such part of the movable Estate, as my Executors shall think fits, and the whole of my household goods within doors, the remaining part of my movable Estate and Heiritage to be turned into money, and the money arising from the sale (after paymeat of debts as above mentioned) to be put out at Interest, and my Wife to have such supply there from toward the bringing up of my children as my Executors shall think fitt, and if it shall happen my Wife to marry then and in that case she is to have my whole household goods within doors, and fifty pounds current money of New York.
Item. I give and bequeath to my Eldest son Nicholas Wright fifty Pounds as his heirship, of the same money aforesaid above, and besides his equal part and share of my Estate with the rest of my sons, and upon the marriage or death of my Wife Sarah, my Estate in the Townspot of Oyster Bay. consisting of about fifty four Acres, and the Meadows at Beaver Swamp, and my whole right and Priviledge of Common Land, both in the Old and New Purchase of Oyster Bay, to be equally divided, with the rest of my Estate, among my sons Nicholas, Jotham, Daniel, Thomas, Edmund and Jacob Wrights, reserving to my heir the fifty Pounds above mentioned of heirship, and likewise what I have given to my Wife Sarah, besides likewise reserving to my Daughter Zeruiah. one hundred Pounds money aforesaid, together also with a Bay Horse.
Item. I order that my negro man called Raff, shall live with my wife during her Widowhood, and after to live with, and to be taken care of by such of my Sons as my Executors shall think fits.
Item. I order that if any of my children shall happen to Die unmarried, or before they come to Lawful age, then and in that case their part or parts to return to and to be equally divided among my surviving children. And I do hereby utterly Disallow, revoke and disannul, all and every other former Testaments, Wills, Legacys and Executors, by me in any way before this time named, Willed and bequeathed. Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament.

Edmund departed this life in October 1733 in the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York. His will was probated on 2 November 1733. Sarah Wright qualified as sole Executrix.
