     John was born before 12 July 1488 in Kelvedon, Kelvedon Hatch, County Essex, England.1 On 12 July 1488, he was christened in Dagenhams, County Essex, England.1 John married Olive Hubbard on 15 March 1509 in Dagenhams, County Essex, England. On 20 June 1509, he was knighted by King Henry VIII. He was Lord of Kelvedon Hall, county Essex. He & his ancestor was the owner of the Manor of Daggenhams, Brook Hall [or Moat House], Cranham Hall and other manors.1 In 1538, he purchased Kelvedon Hall fromRichard Bolles for 493.6.8 pounds. John made his will on 25 September 1551.
In the name of God, Amen - 25 September 1551, of Kellydon, Essex, yoeman, being in bode feble and weak yet of pfect mynde make my will, etc. Soul to God. Body to be buried within the chancell of Kellydon Church.
He bequeathed Kelvedon Manor to his eldest son, [Sir] John, the Manor of Great & Little Roper to his son Robert, Dagenhams Manor to son "Myddle John" & Bishops Hall, Wealdside to son "Young John". John departed this life on Friday, 5 October 1551 in Kelvedon Hatch, County Essex, England, at Dagenhams Manor. He was buried at Kelveldon Hatch, County Essex, England, in the chancel of St. Mary's Church. This church was located within his estate. He had given to the church 2,070 acres of land. His wife is also buried there.1 His will was probated on 21 November 1551.
