Rachel was born on Sunday, 20 January 1669 in Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts. Rachel married William Snowden on 18 June 1699 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, at Old South Church.¹ Rachel's husband, William, died on 1 February 1724 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, leaving her a widow.² An obituary on 9 December 1738 reads: "Died Suddenly Widow Snowden"/ It is quite possible that is is Rachel. Soon after this, a Sarah Snowden takes membership in the church and soon marries there. Possibly, she had been taking care of her sick or invalid mother up to this time.³
