Thomas was born circa 1588 in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, England. He was born at Bourne. Thomas married Ann Halsey, daughter of Robert Halsey alias Chambers and Ellen Alley alias Cooke, on 5 May 1613 in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, England. On 3 October 1635, Thomas immigrated aboard the ship "Defiance" landing in New England. He brought his whole family which included his wife, children, and some grandchildren. He was made a "freeman" in Concord, Massachusetts on 17 April 1636. He removed, with Rev. Thomas Jones, to Fairfield, Connecticut in 1644, settling at Peqoneck on the Uncoway Brook. Two and a half acres are recorded on and dated January of 1649. Thomas made his will on 5 May 1654 at Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. He mentions his wife, Ann; his elder son: Thomas; daughter Sarah, wife of Thomas Sherwood; four grandchildren: Mary, James, Thomas & John Bennett; his son John; & his brother Liet. Thomas Wheeler. Thomas departed this life after 5 May 1654 in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut.
