Marie Vienne

     Marie was born in Marennes, Charente-Maritime, Poitou-Charentes, France. She was christened there on 13 December 1637 in St-Pierre Church.¹ Marie married Jean Lanqueteau circa 1652 in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada. Jean & Marie had a son, Francois [circa 1653][m. 10/14/1681 Marguerite Menard]. Marie's husband, Jean, died on 23 November 1654 in Trois-Rivieres leaving her a widow. Marie married 2nd Philippe Etienne on 26 January 1655 in Trois-Rivieres at the Cathedral de l'Assomption.² Philippe & Marie had children: Marie-Charlotte [2/02/1656-12/23/1731][m. 10/15/1673 Prudent Bougret], Jeanne [9/24/1657-8/06/1747][m. 11/06/1672 Jean Vinet], Judith [ca 1659-4/07/1664], Marguerite-Louise [10/11/1661-1/30/1737][m. 10/14/1681 Jean-Baptiste Menard], Pierre [8/15/1663-8/15/1663], Charles [9/13/1664], Marie-Ursule [4/06/1666-11/19/1728][m. 11/11/1687 Jacques Aubuchon] & son [7/27/1667-7/27/1667].³ 1666, Marie and her husband, Philippe, were listed on the Canadian Census in Trois-Rivieres. Enumerated in this household were Philippe Estienne [35 years], Marie Viey [27 years - widow of Lanqueteau], Francois Lanqueteau [12 years], Charlotte [9 years], Jeanne [8 years], Marguerite [4 years], Charles [1 year], mother: Marie Guinot Delamartiniere [60 years] & servant: Jacques Frereau [25 years].⁴ 1667, Marie and her husband, Philippe, were listed on the Canadian Census in Comte-de-Champlain, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Philippe Estienne [40 years], Marie Vienne [28 years], Francois Lanqueteau [14 years], Marie [11 years], Jeanne [10 years], Marguerite [6 years], Charles [3 year], Marie [1 year].⁴ Marie departed this life after the 1667 census was taken in the fall, and before 11 November 1667, when her husband gets remarried, in Trois-Rivieres.
