     John was born circa 1502 in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, England.2,3 John had lands in Great Missenden, the Lee, Wendover & in Aston Clinton.4 John made his will on 12 March 1565 at The Farm known as "The Hale", The Manor of Wivelsgate, Parish of Wendover, Buckinghamshire, England.

In the will of John Baldwyn, yeoman, he gave to each of his children's children 4d. To his son, Nicholas, houses and lands in Great Missenden, the Lee and Wendover. To his son Silvester, lands in Wendover and Aston Clinton. To his son Richard, £20. To his son Robert, £10. To his son Thomas, a horse price 33s 4d. To John Baldwyn of Lynslad, six silver spoons, a mazer, a featherbed that was his fathers and the lease of the manor of Cholysbury. To Alis Gery 20s. To his son George three half acres of land upon condition that he pays 40s in twelve Years; 40d yearly to 40 persons, men, women and children. The rest of his good he gave to George, his son, "to dispose for my soule and all Crysten soules" which George my eldest son I make my executor. To his son Silvester who is overseer 6s 8d. Bucks, page 247 - In his answer to certain interrogatories made in 1549 concerning the chapel of St. Leonards, John Baldwin stated that he was age 59 years or thereabouts. He was therefore born circa 1490. John is probably the John Baldwin who did fealty for lands in Bellingdon at the court held 22 Oct. 1523. He cannot be found in the taxation list of 1525 for Wendover, but quite two-thirds of the names for that town are illegible. In 1530 John Baldwyn of Hale was fined 2d for default.
    On 29 April 1566 it was presented that John Baldwyn, who had died since the last court, was seised of a tenement and divers lands called Moryns in Bellenden and that John Baldwyn his cousin (consanguineus) aged 13 years, his nearest kinsman (cognatus) is the heir of John Baldwyn, son of the said John, deceased. But they are ignorant how much of the premises is held freely and how much is held according to the custom of the manor. The bailiff is ordered to warn the aforesaid heir to be at the next court to show his deeds and evidences.
