     Mary was born in 1650 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Mary departed this life on Thursday, 22 September 1689 in the Town of Southold at age 39 years. She was buried there in the First Presbyterian Church burying ground in the village of Southold. The inscription on her tombstone reads: Here lyeth buried ye body of Mary Vail aged 39 years separted this life ye 22 of September 1689.2
