     Johannes Gysbertszen was born on Tuesday, 9 November 1734 in the City, County & State of New York. On 10 November 1734, he was christened at the New Amsterdam Reformed Dutch Church in the City, County & State of New York. The witnesses were Abraham Paslding & Neeltje Potter.3 He was often referred to as John. Johannes married Maria Vredenburg, daughter of Johannes Vredenburg and Jannetje Woodard, on 6 March 1757 at the New Amsterdam Reformed Dutch Church in the City, County & State of New York.4 John & Mary resided at Tappan Bay during the Revolution. Their home was destroyed by fire by the British. They had eight children of which Katharine [wife of Augustus Wright] was the sixth child. Johannes departed this life on Thursday, 13 April 1780 in the City, County & State of New York.

    On 6 March 1757, John Bogart married Mary [John & Jane] Vredenburg, of New York City, born 9 May 1739, and died 16 April 1824. Resided at Tappan Bay during the Revolution, his home there being destroyed by the British, by fire. He has a family of eight children, whom Katharine Bogart was the sixth, and second of her name.
