Jemina Travis

     Jemina was born in 1746 in Dutchess County, New York. John and Jemima had children: Gilbert [4/05/1764-2/10/1843] [m. Abigail Mead], Elisha [2/08/1767-3/17/1762] [m. Martha Ganong], Elizabeth [8/29/1769-1/-03/1837] [m. Jeeremiah Ganong], John 7/04/1771-1/81/1865] [m. Elizabeth Cowen] & Jamima [6/07/1778-1846]. Jemina married John Townsend, son of Thomas Townsend I and Sarah (?), circa 1764. Jemina's husband, John, died on 17 September 1821 in Townsendville, Seneca County, New York, leaving her a widow. Jemina departed this life on Monday, 30 April 1832 in Townsendville, Seneca County, New York, at age 86 years. She was buried there in Townsendville Cemetery.¹
