Oliver de was born circa 1125 in Devonshire, England, at the barony of Barnestable.1,2 He was charged with 25 knights fees in 1165, 23 and half in 1166 and 30 and a half in 1168 for his moiety in his barony Barnstable. Oliver departed this life in 1186 in Devonshire, England, at the barony of Barnestable.

- [S1394] Feudal barony of Barnstaple, source - Sanders, I.J., English Baronies, Oxford, 1960 - The other de Totnes sister, whose name is unknown, married Henry de Tracy (d.pre-1165), leaving a son and heir Oliver de Tracy (d.circa 1184), who in 1165 was charged scutage on 25 knights' fees for his moiety. In 1166 he declared 23 1/3 and in 1168 30 1/2 knights' fees. Oliver left a son and heir Oliver II (d.1210).
