     Abiel was born on Saturday, 28 August 1762 in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut.1 He was christened there on 29 August 1762 in Durham.2 Abiel married Eunice Coe circa 1783 in Connecticut.3 Abiel & Eunice had children: Simeon Coe [10/02/1784][m. Sarah Peck], Ermessa [5/05/1786-ca. 1863][m. Jonathan Hooker], Abiel [2/28/1788-5/--/1789], Chauncey [5/11/1789], Abiel [5/04/1791], James [6/--/1793], Johnson [11/29/1796], Anna Morris 6/08/1800][m. Oliver Cary] & Elizur G. [6/09/1802].4,5 The family removed to Durham, New York with Abiel's brother Jonathan. He was in the American Revolution & drew a pension.6 Abiel's wife, Eunice, died on 29 November 1823 in New Durham, Greene County, New York, leaving him a widower.7,8 Abiel departed this life on Thursday, 4 March 1847 in New Durham, Greene County, New York, at age 84 years, 6 months and 4 days.9,10
