John is a carpenter and B B is a tailoress.3 21 June 1870, John and his wife, Sophia, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Berkshire. Enumerated in this household were John Torrey [75 New York], Sophia [72 Massachusetts] & Betsy [65 New York]. John was a cabinet maker.4 John's wife, Sophia, died in March 1875 in Berkshire leaving him a widower. 11 June 1880, John was listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Berkshire.
