Robert was born circa 1600 in St. Katherine's Parish, near Stanstead Abbotts, Hertfordshire, England. Robert married Hannah Carter, daughter of Robert Carter and Petronilla Curle, on 24 June 1626 in Watford, Hertfordshire, England. Robert & his family embarked from London on the 3rd of April 1635 on the ship "Hopewell" to Boston, Massachusetts. Noted by the following: "These underwritten names are transported to New England imbarqued in ye Hopewell, Mr. William Bundick. The parties have bought a certificate from the Ministers and Justices of the Peace that they are no Subsidy men. They have taken the Oath of Allegiance and Supremacie. Robert Titus, Husbandman of Saint Kathern's [age 35], Hannah Titus Uxor age 31, Jo. Titus age 8, Edmund Titus age 5."
The family arrived at Boston in a few weeks following and there soon granted land in the present town of Brookline, near Muddy River, adjoining Boston. Here the family remained two or three years, when they removed to the town of Weymouth, some nine miles to the southeast. Their land is described in the town of Weymouth. In the spring of 1644, Robert in the company of some early families, moved with the minister of Weymouth Parish, Rev. Samuel Newman to the town of Rehoboth but ran into trouble by harboring Abney Ordway and family "of evil fame" meaning, in all likelyhood, of Quaker religion. The eldest son, John remained, all the others went with their parents to Huntington, Long Island.
About 1637, the family was residing at North Weymouth, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. In the spring of 1644, Robert & his family moved to Rehoboth, Bristol County, Massachusetts with some forty families. This town is now a part of Attleboro. While there, he was often intrusted by the freemen with offices of trust.

16 March 1645 - Rehoboth - Robert Titus, Richard Brown, William Smith, and others were appointed to get the fences in Rehoboth in order by the 23rd of the month. On the 23rd of May 1654, Robert sold his property to Robert Jones of Nantasket. His son John remained in Rehoboth. Robert departed this life circa 1679 in Huntington, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
