     Eli was born on Saturday, 18 May 1771 in Frederick County, Maryland. Eli married Henrietta Lamar circa 1792 in Frederick County, Maryland. She was the daughter of William Bishop Lamar and Elizabeth Smith. Eli and Henrietta had children: Matilda, Martha Lee [12/13/1793-11/05/1853][m. 12/09/1816 James Gabbert], Thomas Lee [9/19/1798-1849][m. Lucretia Blanford], Elizabeth, Elijah, Eli [10/20/1802-5/16/1842][m. 11/27/1834 Caroline Meeker], Uriah, Aritta [5/31/1806-1/02/1882][m. 12/06/1815 3/11/1824], Wiliam Franklin [7/06/1808-6/20/1855][m. 1845 Michal McDaniel] & Ervie. Eli's wife, Henrietta, died on 8 May 1821 in Lewisport, Hancock County, Kentucky, leaving him a widower. Eli departed this life on Friday, 1 February 1856 in Lewisport at age 84 years, 8 months and 14 days. He was buried there in Pate Cemetery.1
