Mary was born on Sunday, 13 November 1701 in Cutchogue in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Mary married Sgt. Jonathan Mapes, son of Thomas Mapes and Sarah Purrier, on 28 November 1733 in the Town of Southold.¹ Mary's husband, Jonathan, died on 4 January 1747/48 in the Town of Southold leaving her a widow. Mary departed this life on Monday, 13 October 1755 in the Town of Southold at age 53 years and 11 months.
