Edmund was born in 1591 in Felmersham, Hertfordshire, England.4 Edmund married Anna (?) circa 1613 in Hertfordshire, England. On 31 May 1637, Edmund left from Bennington, Hertfordshire, England aboard a ship, "name unknown", and arrived in New England on the 31st of August. The family immigrated with 15 other families.. He first settled in New Haven before moving to Milford where he was one of the original settlers and also an original member of the Church of Christ there, which was fcormed on 22 August 1639. Edmund was one those trusted with having the deed of Milford placed in their hands. In 1643, he along with William Fowler were chosen as magistrates of the colony of New Haven.5 He was a colonel in New Hampshire in October 1643.6 Edmund made his will on 1 April 1653 at Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut.7 Edmund departed this life in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut.8,9 The inventory of Edmund's estate was taken on Saturday, 26 April 1653.10

Ann, d. of William Andrews, wh. had first been w. of William Gibbard, and Eliz. w. of John Nash. Beside this, she calls in that docum. William Fowler, her s.-in-law, gives something to him and three ds. of his, term.
