Lavina Taylor1

     Lavina was born on Saturday, 12 May 1849 in England. She was the daughter of John Taylor and Anna Flatters of England.2 Lavina married Eli C. Ridgely, son of Westall Ridgely and Susannah Winbegler, in 1867 in Cass County, Michigan. Eli and Lavina had two children: Susan A.[12/11/1868-1905][m. 9/25/1889 Samuel Julian Henry & 2nd. 9/02/1902 Thomas Franklin Fehr] & Jay C. Ridgley [3/14/1870-4/21/1938][m. Etta Sheldon]. 16 August 1870, Lavina and her husband, Eli, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Marcellus Township, Cass County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were Eli Ridgley [26 Ohio], his wife: Lavinia [22 England], their children: Susan A. [1 Michigan], Jay C. [3/12 Michigan].3 2 June 1880, Lavina and her husband, Eli, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Marcellus Township. Enumerated in this household were Eli Ridgley [36 Ohio], Lavina [32 England], Susie A, [11 Michignan] & J. C. [10 Michigan]. Eli is a farmer.4 Lavina departed this life on Tuesday, 8 May 1900 in Marcellus Township at age 50 years, 11 months and 26 days. She was buried there in Bly Cemetery.2
