     William was born circa 1246 in Staffordsire, England, at the Manor of Bagot's Bromley. By June of 1271, he had received the estate of his father including the Manor of Bagot's Bromley. At this time, he was not yet a knight.4 William married Hawisia (?) circa 1274.5 William, throughout his career, granted multiply deeds in small allotments of land, most if not all of which were for fees of cash or other assets. This practice greatly lowered the value of the manor. It also created an embarrassment for his descendents, as they were then forced into the position of having to repurchase these pieces in order to restore the manor.6 On 16 September 1290, William signed a deed. William departed this life before November 1290 in Staffordsire, England, at the Manor of Bagot's Bromley. On the de Banco Roll Michealmas, 18-19 Edward I [November 1290], William Tarpele sued his son, John Bagot of Bromley. His son had, by now, come into the possession of his father's estate.7,8

I., William de Tarpele sued John Bagot of Brumley Bagot for distraining him to perform suit at his Court of Brumley Bagot, against the form of feoffment. As deed No. 47 shows he was alive on the 16th of September, 1290, Sir William must have died between those two dates.
