To my servants John Landbeard & Anthony Teawker & his wife. To Robert Baker – To John Philippe – To William Colliver, if he continue servant to my son Adrian Sweet – To Richard Bound – To Joan Hyne – To Philip Lighe, if she continues servant to my son Adrian until marriage. – To Thomas Woodford at the end of his apprenticeship. – To Phillipp Hayman – To all the children of my daughter Agnes £20 each, whereof £50 is to be paid to her by Mr. George Cruse out of the profits of the lands he hath in trust which were the lands of John Wolcote of Hemyock the elder.
To my son-in-law John “Neale” (Neyle) & Alice his wife £20 according to promise & to all his children £30 equally.
To William Bastard Esqre & said George Cruse £6.13.4 each.
Residue to such of my children & children’s children as my executors shall think fit & I make the said William Bastard George Cruse my executors.

To my son Mr. Adrian Sweete – To Anthony Cawker – To Margery Wolcott – To servants named – To John Langbere – To Susan Neyle – To my daughter Alice Neyle – To my daughter Agnes – To Joan Hyne
To the poor of Modbury Town, 2 pillow & 2 coverlets which I had from my brother Robert Sweet.
Also S.P.V. executors V. Adrian Sweete, son of testator.1
John departed this life on Sunday, 3 November 1613 in Modbury, Devonshire, England, at the Trayne Manor.2 His will was probated on 4 June 1614. In 1626, the Neeles & Woolcots initiated a lawsuite against an executor of John Swete's estate, George Cruse [had been raised by John Swete]. The records showed John had two sons & two daughters. It showed his son, John, was a Jesuit priest & Adrien had received the bulk of his estate. It also stated his daughter, Alice had 6 children & daughter, Agnes, had 5 children.3
